We’re excited to reveal a fresh, new look for dataset pages on Data WA!
From today, you’ll notice the dataset pages have been updated to an easier to read layout (and we snuck in some new functions too).
Below are a few highlights, be sure to take a look and let us know what you think!
As data technology advances, more data formats and supporting resources are becoming available. Data and Resources have been split into three easier to manage sections: Web Services & APIs, Data Downloads, and Resources.
User feedback revealed there’s key metadata our users need to see at a glance. We’ve moved the Additional Info up to the new Key Information sidebar, making it faster to find the details you need.
Data resources now have quick action buttons! Copy a web service/API URL with a single click using the Copy URL button, or quickly grab your download format of choice with the Download button.
Looking for resource-specific metadata? You can still access resource pages by clicking the name of the resource.
Data publishers now have a brand-new way to provide users with a sneak peek of their data: introducing Preview buttons.
Spatial datasets that have a public map service now display a Preview in NationalMap button. Other datasets have the option of adding a preview picture or shortcut through the Preview Data button. As publishers take up the preview option, you’ll start to see it on more datasets across the catalogue.
We’d love to know what you think of the changes – send us your feedback and ideas to opendata@landgate.wa.gov.au.
